Welcome

Our center is dedicated to pioneering advances in the surgical treatment of abdominal diseases through laparoscopic surgery.  Traditionally, surgery for many abdominal conditions requires a large incision with a longer hospital stay and more pain.  However, over the past few years advances in technology have given rise to the creation of laparoscopic surgery.

Laparoscopic Surgery
Laparoscopic surgery (also referred to as "minimally invasive surgery") describes the performance of surgical procedures with small incisions. These incisions are less than half an inch in length and the surgery is performed using very thin instruments. Laparoscopic surgery can be used to treat many abdominal surgical conditions involving the gallbladder, hernia, colon, and ovary in addition to many more. There are multiple benefits including reduced pain and earlier return to work.

Single Port Surgery
Recently, Single Port Access Surgery has become one the newest advances in laparoscopic surgery. This technique allows for nearly scarless surgery to be performed. Single Port Access involves doing the entire surgery through a small incision about 2-3cm (the width of your finger) usually hidden inside the bellybutton. Our center is a one of the pioneers in the performance of Single Port Surgery.
